How to Apply for Treatment
To arrange for treatment with a member of the Living with Medical Conditions Service, please download the application and send a completed copy to the White Institute Clinic at 20 West 74th Street, New York, NY 10023. Please write, “Attention: Living with Medical Conditions Service” on your application. The Institute staff member who receives your application will make every effort to arrange an intake interview as quickly as possible. Not everyone who applies can be accommodated, nor will the Institute’s services be appropriate for every applicant. In such cases, the Living with Medical Conditions clinical staff will make every effort to provide appropriate and personal referrals to alternative sources.
Fees for Psychotherapy
Insurance coverage is accepted when applicable (the majority of our psychotherapists are Medicare providers). When there is financial need, fees are set on a sliding scale.
Staff of the Living with Medical Conditions Service
All psychotherapy is conducted by mental health professionals who are graduates or current matriculants of the William Alanson White Institute. These are clinicians with experience in the treatment of persons with medical conditions. Among our roster are professionals who have special training in medical rehabilitation, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, child/adolescent, couples/family, geriatric and bereavement psychotherapy. Treatment is provided in clinicians’ private offices throughout the city, or in the Clinic at the Institute.
