White Society Colloquium: Human Goodness

Date: Jun 24, 2020 8:00 pm
Human Goodness: Theoretical and Technical Implications

Wednesday, June 24th

Presenter: Salman Akhtar, MD

Moderator: Milan Patel, MD

The White Society is proud to welcome back the renowned Salman Akhtar to our Institute. Please join us for a very special Colloquia with Salman Akhtar on "Human Goodness: Theoretical and Technical Implications". It was originally scheduled for March 25th, and had to be rescheduled due to the COVID crisis for June 24th at 8pm. I will be serving as moderator. Also, this will be the first ever White Society Colloquia via Zoom!

Considering all that is happening in the world around us, we believe the timing of this talk is fortuitous. We hope that this presentation can serve as a needed antidote to the barrage of negative stories and images we are currently witnessing about our fellow citizens and leaders. Unfortunately, the current focus on the worst in human nature has become inextricably tied into our experience of current events. My hope is that a concurrent appeal to and appreciation of the inherent goodness in our fellow man will allow much-needed space for hope and perseverance as well.

Dr. Akthtar is one of the most prolific writers, as well as one of the most engaging speakers in the field of psychoanalysis today. His voice and wisdom should make for a very engaging talk on an intellectual and emotional level. For those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear him speak, please join us for a special treat.
