White Society Colloquium: The Psychoanalyst As Inn-Keeper and Interlocutor

Date: Apr 12, 2019 8:00 pm

Presenter: Mitchell Wilson, MD

What is the basic structure of the psychoanalytic encounter? The “Psychoanalyst is an Inn-Keeper” proposes that analysis partakes of the centuries' old practice of a traveler visiting a proprietor who then listens to the story of the traveler’s journey. Care-taking and speaking are the two central features of this common yet invariably strange encounter.
