Explore the use of art in the treatment room with children and adolescents. Reflect on the developmental and symbolic elements in the image. Get to know various materials and how materials can evoke and convey thoughts and feelings.  We will look at client artwork and see the shifts and changes in treatment from the images discussed. Through an experiential process, we will explore various art materials to understand our experience with the materials and the material's properties to gain some insight to how our client’s might use materials. We will look at developmental ways that child and adolescent art may progress.

Learning objective:

-At the end of this course, the participant will be able to discuss insight gained into child and adolescent art.

-At the end of this course, the participant will be able to use some basic materials in their work with children.

- At the end of this course, the participant will be familiar with some art materials and how they can be useful in treatment.
