Religion, Antisemitism and the Origin of Psychoanalysis

Dr. Cooper-White holds 2 Ph.Ds: from Harvard University (in historical musicology), and from the Institute for Clinical Social Work, Chicago (a psychoanalytic clinical and research degree), as well as an M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School, an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling from Holy Names University, Oakland, CA. She is currently the Christiane Brooks Johnson Professor of Psychology and Religion at Union Theological Seminary in New York, and was the 2013-14 Fulbright-Freud Scholar of Psychoanalysis in Vienna, Austria, at the Sigmund Freud Museum, and the University of Vienna.  She has published over 70 articles and anthology chapters, and has lectured frequently across the U.S. and Europe, as well as in Jerusalem, Israel/Palestine.  She is the author of 7 books, including her most recent volume, Old and Dirty Gods.
