LGBTQ STUDY GROUP: A Reading and Discussion of Judith Butler's "Melancholy Gender--Refused Identification"
The LGBTQ STUDY GROUP of the William Alanson White Institute presents
A Reading and Discussion of Judith Butler's "Melancholy Gender--Refused Identification"
Wed. Nov. 1, 2017
William Alanson White Institute
20 W. 74 St. - Room 3A
For this meeting, we will be reading this important article and examining its ideas about the acquisition of gender and the (non)mourning of lost homosexual attachments. We welcome everyone with an interest in learning about, applying, and/or challenging Butler's ideas. For a PDF of the article, please RSVP to Eugenio (Chair) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our group is a gathering of psychoanalysts, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, students, and anyone else interested in all things queer and psychoanalytic. We meet the first Wednesday evening of each month, October through June...and we look forward to reuniting with familiar faces and welcoming new ones!
$95 for year-long attendance
$15 for one-time attendance
**Pizza and prosecco will be served.**
**All are welcome to attend.**
