Technology has invaded and transformed our lives including how we work as psychoanalysts, educators and clinicians.  While some prefer the fountain pen to the stylus or keyboard, others have embraced text, email and more recently treatment via video conference.  Online psychotherapy and psychoanalytic education programs are connecting faculty and students from places never before possible or practical.  As a result many clinicians have questions about the efficacy of online psychological and psychoanalytic treatment and psychoanalytic education.  This conference will address the conflicts head-on, examining arguments for and against the adoption of technology for treatment and education.  Our presenters will identify benefits, challenges and concerns about telemental health and online education.  They will share their experiences of psychoanalytic treatment, supervision and education using technology.

In addition, participants will learn

  • An Overview of the Ethical practice of telemental health including evidenced based core models
  • Guidelines and Best Practices for Telepsychological Assessment, Psychotherapy, Consultation, Supervision, Training and Education
  • Current Research on telemental health
