Dr. Cynthia Field will describe the White Institute’s tripartite training program and its award-winning clinic which offers fellowships to help defray expenses.  Susan Heimbinder will present clinical material and receive supervision from Alan Schwartz, M.D.
Come experience a live Interpersonal - Relational case supervision.

Susan Heimbinder, LMSW, is a second-year candidate in the Psychoanalytic Certificate Program at the White Institute and a participant in our highly-regarded Clinic Fellowship.  Prior to her career as a psychotherapist, she worked as a producer in documentary features and series at HBO and IFC.

Cynthia Field, Ph.D. is the Director of Outreach & Recruitment at the White Institute.  In addition, she serves as a Fellow, a Supervisor of Psychotherapy and a teaches in the Institute’s Postdoctoral Fellowship.  A recipient of the White Institute’s Director’s Award for service to the community, she has served on numerous committees and is currently a member of the Steering Committee of the Institute’s newly established Public Mental Health Think Tank.  She is an Adjunct Professor at John Jay College and Fordham University.  Dr. Field is in full time private practice on the Upper West Side.

Alan Schwartz, M.D. completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Pennsylvania's Pennsylvania Hospital, and subsequently trained as a post-doctoral Fellow in HIV psychiatry at Cornell Medical Center. He was Editor in Chief of the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Mental Health.  Dr. Schwartz is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and currently chairs the LGBT committee of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry. He completed his psychoanalytic training at the William Alanson White Institute in 2006, where he currently serves as a member of the Training Committee, a Faculty member and Supervisor of Psychotherapy.  Dr. Schwartz is in full time private practice in New York City.
