Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What if I am unsure about starting treatment?
Ans: It would be helpful to come in for an intake/evaluation to determine if our services would be of help to you. After discussing your questions with a therapist you could then decide whether or not to continue.
Q: What if I am in a crisis or there is an emergency.
Ans: You should call the nearest hospital or go to the emergency room as soon as possible.
Q: How long will I have to wait for a therapist to be assigned?
Ans: Therapists are usually assigned within three days upon receiving your application.
Q: How long are the sessions?
Ans: They are usually 45-50 minutes long?
Q: What if I do not feel comfortable or do not like the therapist?
Ans: You may request a new therapist. The clinic wants to make sure you are comfortable with the clinician.
Q: How is the fee set and do you take insurance?
Ans: Since there are so many different insurance plans it is often difficult to determine how much your company will reimburse the clinic. It would be helpful to call your insurance company and ask them specifically “What is the coverage for out- of -network providers for mental health, outpatient treatment?” Keep in mind there are often high deductibles and very limited benefits for psychotherapy. Once you obtain this information, you and the therapist will set the fee. We are unable to bill Medicaid or SSI. If you have this coverage, please call the clinic for a referral.
